My aim with my workshops is to facilitate a space where beginners and professionals alike can thrive and make tangible creative discoveries that they can take forward into their daily lives as performers or as humans.
For 3 joyful hours we will dive into the healing power of playing with others, laughing together and celebrating the innate and beautiful silliness that resides within us all. This will be a practical session, with no previous performance experience required. Ages 16+
We will explore how the 5 principles of therapeutic clowning – simplicity, generosity, lightness, honesty and joy – can be harnessed to create meaningful and reciprocal connections that can transform experiences of adversity into ones filled with laughter and joy. The workshop will be active, and involve group and duo games.
I am very proud to have been invited to participate in de Castro's Summer Clown School after the success of my Power of Connection course in January 2024!
Here is some feedback from participants:
'It was so beautiful, so sensitively lead. I loved every minute of it. I loved that each day was devoted to a different focus: self/clown-partner/patient'
'It was such a wonderful course. It honestly felt life changing. It has already started to influence the way i work and the way I think about myself as a practitioner'
'It was amazing. It truly showed me the power of connection and introduced me to lots of interesting people. The feeling of safety in the room was glorious!'
'I learned a lot more than I expected in just three days. Even after it was over I realised something more'
'It was a big personal effort and investment for me to join the course and i got a big pay off & pay back, so feeling massively glad and grateful that I took the leap'
'It was absolutely the safest and most supportive workshop pace I have ever been in'
'I was able to really land with the work, and all the training I've done in clown began to come together and that felt very special'
Workshops and coaching for Healthcare Clown organisations:
Workshops are tailored to the needs of the group, with a specific interest in how we keep our practice and clown 'alive', creative, playful and responsive to the moment in order to be of best service. I teach clowning for children in hospitals, for dementia care settings and for young people with complex autism and complex additional support needs.
